What is separation anxiety?

It's a deep fear of alone time. Some dogs will express this by barking and howling, others might frantically pace, some dogs are destructive, some might toilet in the house while others may self-harm. All dogs can suffer from separation anxiety. This includes puppies, older dogs, pedigrees and rescues.

The best way forward is to address it as early as possible to prevent further escalation, injury and harm. I use a process of systematic desensitisation, as learnt from world-leader Malena DeMartini-Price.
